In the Beginning Bal Shiksha Samiti, Kaithal(Women’s College) was formed in the year 1970, with a view to establish women’s college to carry out various social and educational activities etc. for the welfare of public at large. Thereafter a new society was formed in the year 1971 under the name of The Mahila Mahavidyalaya Samiti(Regd.),Kaithal to carry forward the aims and objectives of the society. The Mahila Mahavidyalaya Samiti sponsored Women’s College which was known as the Mahila Mahavidyalaya. Later on the college was named after Lt. Prime Minister Smt. Indira Gandhi and with the passage of time updated to P.G. college , known as Indira Gandhi(P.G.) Mahila Mahavidyalaya, Kaithal. In the year 1989, Indira Gandhi Public School was established and with passage of time updated to Sr. Sec. School, with Medical, Non-Medical, Commerce and Arts Streams now widely known as Indira Gandhi Sr. Sec. Public School,Kaithal.
